Updates on Higher Education and Local School Access
Recent developments include a university merger, new leadership at Rutgers, and storm recovery efforts affecting school commutes.
Kean University and New Jersey City University have completed a merger. This creates Kean Jersey City as a new campus in the Kean system. Starting this fall, Kean expects to serve nearly 25,000 students globally at its flagship campus in Union.
At the Rutgers School of Nursing, Alexandria Carey has been appointed as assistant professor and director of research development. In this new role starting July 1, Carey will focus on workforce development and translational research partnerships.
In Randolph, DPW and first responders worked to clear debris from roads following a storm. These efforts were intended to ensure roads were passable for school, work, and summer camp.
