Randolph crews clear storm debris, set up cooling stations

Public works teams are clearing roads for school while JCP&L restores power after a destructive thunderstorm.

A destructive thunderstorm has left Randolph dealing with downed trees and wires. The Department of Public Works and first responders have been working to remove debris so that roads remain passable for work, school, and summer camp tomorrow.

JCP&L crews are actively removing downed wires throughout the township as part of restoration efforts. Residents without power can visit a cooling and recharge station set up at Fire Co. 2 on Saturday and today.

Officials urge residents to call 911 only for life-threatening situations or true emergencies while resources are deployed across Morris County. The town is also looking ahead with mentions of the 2026 Randolph Freedom Festival appearing on local calendars.
