Early Morning Treatment Operations

Crews plan to treat wooded areas along River Road at Camp Thunderbird early Monday morning, specifically between 4:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. on August 24. This specific location was targeted after officials noted an increase in mosquito activity within the woods. Residents near this area should be aware that treatment will only proceed if weather conditions permit.

A separate early morning operation is also scheduled for Monday, August 17, between 4:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. This earlier date involves similar all-terrain vehicle treatments in parts of East Hanover to manage the growing population before peak activity hours begin. The county has emphasized that these early windows are chosen to minimize disruption while maximizing effectiveness.

Evening Spraying Scheduled for Thursday

In addition to morning operations, a treatment is set for late on Thursday night between 9:00 p.m. and midnight using truck-mounted sprayers. This evening schedule allows crews to target mosquitoes during their active hours without interfering with daytime traffic or outdoor activities. The county stated that the specific chemical used will be either Anvil 2+2, though details were cut off in available reports.
