Two separate driving while intoxicated arrests in recent months have drawn attention from law enforcement across the district. On Wednesday, July 8, Hanover Township Police Officer Robert Miele arrested Emmanuel Lomelicarvente, a 30-year-old resident of Boonton. The arrest occurred after Officer Miele responded to a motor vehicle crash involving three vehicles.

Police identified Mr. Lomelicarvente as the driver of the third vehicle involved in that July incident. He was taken into custody for driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs following an observation by the responding officer. Another serious traffic violation occurred earlier this summer involving a different Boonton resident. On Saturday, June 20, officers responded to a crash on Brooklawn Drive in Parsippany that involved Cory D. Herbert. Mr. Herbert, who is 34 years old and lives in Boonton, was taken into custody at approximately 10:33 p.m.

Mr. Herbert registered a blood alcohol concentration nearly three times the legal limit during this June incident. He faces charges for driving while intoxicated after the crash on Brooklawn Drive.
